Provide an Internship for Bellevue Students
Internships provide students with real-world experiences they can't get in the classroom. Length of commitment and requirements vary by program.
Bellevue Big Picture School - The Bellevue Big Picture School, new in 2011, seeks to provide students with highly personalized and relevant learning experiences. Partnership with community businesses and organizations is essential. Every student is expected to complete an internship, working on projects that benefit the organization and connect to the student's learning goals. To learn more about providing internships for Big Picture students, contact Barb Mercier at mercierb@bsd405.org or 425.456.7807.
BPS needs 50 high school internship sites by mid-November and dozens of professionals for informational interviews. Students will work Wednesdays and Thursdays (10-12 hours/week) for ten weeks. Careers of interest can be found here.
Middle school mentors are also needed. Sign up now by contacting Barb Mercier at mercierb@bsd405.org or 425.456.7807.
PRISM at Interlake High School - Students in Bellevue's Gifted High School Program are expected to complete an internship during their senior year. The internship experience allows students to gain an understanding of career-level work and the skills and training that their fields of interest demand. Contact Arlene Scott at scottar@bsd405.org or 425.456.7797 to learn more.
Transitions at Interlake High School - The Bellevue School District's Transitions Services program identifies internship opportunities for special needs students within the district, seeking to expose them to new experiences and real-world work.
