MIKE RILEY STUDENT SUPPORT ENDOWMENT
Providing Long-term Funding for Student Support in the Bellevue School District.
“All students should have the opportunity for college success, no matter what their background.” Mike Riley

Mike Riley
Mike Riley, Bellevue School District Superintendent from 1995 – 2007, worked tirelessly to ensure that this vision became a reality. He believed that every student could succeed in college and beyond with rigorous academics, strong teachers and solid support for students. Even after his death, his vision has left a lasting culture in the Bellevue School District: every student will be prepared for post high school success through a top-notch education.
In honor of the legacy of excellence created and nurtured by Dr. Riley, The Bellevue Schools Foundation is proud to launch the Mike Riley Student Support Endowment.
The Mike Riley Student Support Endowment is an investment fund in which the principal balance from donations is allowed to grow each year with the interest/capital gains used to fund student support programs.
This Endowment works together with our annual giving campaigns to provide long-term funding and financial security for the educational programs for students in the Bellevue school district.
All donations to the Endowment are tax deductible.
How to Donate
Endowment donations may be received in cash, check, credit/debit card, or marketable securities. For any other gifts, our Investment Committee will work with you to determine whether or not the Endowment can accept the type of gift (examples include: real estate, personal property, closely help securities, time share units, life insurance, etc.).
Donations to the Mike Riley Student Support Endowment are accepted via the Bellevue Schools Foundation website (www.bsfdn.org), through regular mail or in person.

Why Create an Endowment?
With the current economic outlook, growing education needs, and uncertain funding from state and federal sources, we must find ways to smooth out our school district funding so we can give more consistent, long-term, and stable financial commitments.
As it grows, the Endowment Fund will provide this reliable source of funding that we can depend on each year. This will allow us to support the school district with dependable funding for programs which support students to be successful in their academic pursuits.
How the Endowment Funds are Invested
The Endowment Funds are invested in a diversified portfolio of mutual funds and money market accounts. Our primary investment goal is capital preservation and growth.
How the Endowment Funds will be Used
The Endowment will help fund Student Support programs in Bellevue’s public schools. In a typical year, these programs range from VIBES classroom mentors (Volunteers in Bellevue Schools), AVID and Bridging the Achievement Gap grants. Each of these programs focuses on helping students reach their academic goals.
Endowment Goals
We have a five-year vision to grow the Endowment to over $2 Million.
Every dollar raised is important – and puts us closer to our goal.
